The Vancouver Canucks signed defenseman Zeev Buium to an eight-year contract extension Friday worth $9.38 million a season. The 20-year-old offensive-minded defender had three goals and nine assists in 45 games with Vancouver last season. Buium has six goals and 20 assists in 76 career NHL games with the Wild and Canucks.
